THE PROJECT

2017 marks the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce’s 70th anniversary. The theme selected was a James Bond inspired 070 casino setting. The event was hosted at Arlington Park and featured live music, various casino tables and a delectable offering of foods and desserts.

Imagineering Studios was approached just weeks before the event about the possibility of producing a video. The Chamber wanted something to spice things up and set this year apart from previous years — possibly a short, James Bond themed video to kick off the evening.

Well, the short of it is that we dove deep into this project and produced a 9 and a half minute short film. We had just three weeks to take the project from script to final film with special effects, custom sound design, and original music. The film, featuring a cast made up of Chamber board members, the Chamber’s Executive Director and a few obliging friends, was shot entirely in Arlington Heights.

On the evening of the awards event, we had the privilege of screening this short film before nearly 300 unsuspecting attendees to kick off an exciting evening of celebration.

THE FILM

THE SCORE

After filming, editing and sound design, we had two and a half days to write an original score for the film. The result was something like a James Bond score set in a Henry Mancini style using some modern orchestration techniques. It was produced completely using computer samples, except for a piano track that was recorded in our studio by Timothy Kou.
